This year, World Refugee Day hosted its first ever World Refugee Day Soccer Friendly, featuring a tournament style competition, food trucks, a live DJ, and ice cream provided by the Boise Police Department. The first games began at 1:00 pm, as Simba FC and SB United squared off against Boise United, and Boise Alpha against Bhutanese FC. The two winners, Simba FC and Boise Alpha, challenged each other at 3:00, with Simba FC coming out on top, 2-1. The traveling trophy will have the team name inscribed on it for one year (viewing location to be determined). Congratulations to Simba FC on their win!
